Year 3

By the time a pupil reaches Year 3, we expect them to be applying what they have learnt into their work and becoming more independent learners.

Homework such as reading, comprehension, verbal reasoning and fact sheets help with this. They are also given more responsibilities in class and in school as a whole. Our aim in Year 3 is to ensure that the children are thoroughly prepared for their next school as they enjoy their final year at Hessle Mount. The Year 3 day runs from 9.00 am to 3.30pm.

The children are encouraged to take part in more competitive sports including tennis, netball, hockey and rounders. This allows those children who may not participate in sport outside school every opportunity to develop new skills and interests, and to experience being part of a team. We complete our academic tracking in this year, providing a final report on how each pupil is achieving ready for their next steps onto their next school.

My son loves going to school and has learned so much and developed into a hard-working, happy boy.
